Why do you think many teachers are still afraid of integrating technology in the Primary Curriculum, especially at the infant level?

Research has proven that permanent teachers who have been teaching for so many years now are the most resistance to change when it comes to technology integration, do you agree?

1.) Teachers are afraid to integrate technology in the primary curriculum, especially at the infant level because it is not usual, here in Belize, for a teacher to be seen using technology in the classroom. I would say that teachers are afraid of change, they are so used to the traditional way of teaching that trying to integrate technology is a big step that requires a lot of planning, money and time. As the world advances and as time goes by teachers will be required to use technology in the classroom to prepare children for a better future.

2.) I would agree to a certain extent that permanent teachers who have been in the profession for so long are resistant for a change when it comes to technology integration. These teachers have been in the profession for so long that it is very difficult for them to cope with technology. This does not mean that they cannot use it or be interested in learning. All they need is interest and motivation to learn. They need to see the benefits in leaning to integrate technology for them to want to lean.
