Students' Internet Usage

One of he most effective means of communication is the use of the internet. However, its use by a vast majority of students is to become updated in style, fashion and music as well as with the new developments in drugs and weapons which make the use of the internet a more negative one.

The internet is a very powerful resource that teacher can use to their advantage. Many times students get a mentality that the internet is their simply to chat, check emials, and view pornography. As teachers we should allow students to see the true purpose of the internet and all that it offers to its users. If we allow our students to become info-techtives then they have will the necessary critical thinking skills to browse the web responsively. The internet can be used to buy and sell goods, its an excellent means of communication, it is also a vast information resource, the acquiring of an education can also be gotten online as well. Students should know why the internet is there and they should be aware of why it is they want to use it.

I do believe that students use the internet for educational, work related and definitely for enjoyment purposes. Unfortunately every time one would walk up to an individual unexpectedly, more often than never that person would be on some sort of chat forum. I am positive that that hinders the individual from completing an assignment or the task at hand on time, or it was not done at the best of the person's ability.

yes internet is a useful device for students because if teacher tell a child to go and do a research he/she will go to the internet and get what you want.

The internet is a useful tool for us as students and teachers. Unfortunately sometimes it is not being used appropriately by students. The internet can help us in many ways especially finding information but some students use it to see pornographic pictures. This is bad for them since they are learning things that will not serve them in the future. They also do things on the internet that will affect others. Using the internet just to hurt others is not good. Watching pornographic pictures on the internet corrupts children's minds. This makes them want to go experimenting what they see. This is dangerous since they will get hurt. Students should be monitored properly to decrease such happenings.

The internet is very good because it gives us access to every and anything we want. It helps students because they can visit places that offer internet services and get the information they need. if they do not know how to use it, people are there that can research for them. Internet use is better that reading a book, after all, books are too heavy to carry and sometimes too boring. Yes, I must say that internet is a very powerful part of technology, even though not so pleasant thing are also viewed, parents or teachers can deny access to such sites by blocking them.

As students and professionals we have to take into consideration the fact that not so long ago not everybody could have access to the internet. Now that there is easy access to it we need to use it wisely and to our benefit. There is so much valuable information that can help us to enhance ourselves professionaly and to share with our students. So let's not waste our time browsing pages that are not educational!

So often teenagers uses the internet for the wrong thing. I believe that teenagers using the internet should be suepervised.

The internet is a powerful tool in education. But like everything else it has it's advantage and disadvantage. Many have been deeply humiliated and hurt by the internet. This is one of the things computer literate people do. Istead of using the internet wisely they use it "horendously".

That is so true, it is normally the other things that interest the students. The WEB is full of knowledge, but sometimes I think that it gives too much information with out guidance.

Students use the internet for educational and non-educational purposes. To me most of the time students use the internet for non-edcuational purposes. Instead of students using the internet wisely, they would sit infortn of a computer and chat all day and leave their assignments until last minute. the internet should be a good resource to get information for any assigment given to students. Students can also use the internet for educational use. to find research and to enhance learning.

indeed teh internet is a powerful tool but many times we misuse it and abuse it the wrong way. nevertheless, i can attest that it has being meaningful to us students in that it faccilitates leaning and help us do resaerch faster and with ease

The internet is the largest library that anyone can access. It has information on just about any subject/topic that you can think of; however this wealth of information can be used in many different ways. Using the internet as an educational tool is only one reason why students would use the internet, there are many other reasons why students access the internet. It is used as a means of entertainment, as a communication device and for many other reasons. When parents and teachers believe that it is being used for the wrong purposes they can easily block the websites that they do not want students to access and they can also devise plans that would help to prevent the over use of the computer or internet and at the same time have students use the internet for more positive reasons like educational research.

i do agree that the internet is a effective tool to get students to do their assignments to time. but like anything else the internet has many distractions. take for example chating...many times people are chating leaving behind their assignment that is due the next day just because of this interesting invention. therefore i conclude that the individual has to prioritize what is of utmost interest research or chat.

I believe that some students use the internet in a very effectife way whilse other dont.

Some might say that internet usage does not have one specific usage and i must say i agree. As educators we need to teach children that there are different reasons why we use the internet and that when it is time to use it to learn something pertaining to the objective of the class objective then we need to do just.
